Leading with the house, not the adviser

Fieldstone suits a mortgage broker whose clients arrive thinking about a property rather than about a loan. If most of your work is residential purchases, first-time buyers, home movers and people remortgaging a family home, this template opens on the thing they actually care about: a street of houses. That is the real difference from Page Overview, which is built around who the adviser is and suits a practice that wins work through personal recommendation. Fieldstone puts the home first and the broker's name second, which fits a firm that takes referrals from estate agents, works a particular town or set of neighbourhoods, or wants its brand to feel like part of the moving process rather than the banking side of it.

The photograph is warm and calm, a row of period homes in low sun, so the overall mood is settled and unhurried. That tone suits planned work, such as buyers who are a few months from an offer, more than anyone chasing a decision in principle by tonight.

One screen, and what sits on it

Be clear about scope before you choose. Fieldstone is a single screen, not a multi-page site. It contains:

  • your logo and business name, top left
  • a large two-line headline
  • a short tagline beneath it
  • a date line, low on the left
  • a full-height property photograph on the right
  • a band along the bottom of the photograph carrying your web address

There are no buttons, forms, menus or further sections. That makes it a strong cover rather than a complete website: a holding page while a fuller site is built, a front page for a broker who mainly works by phone and referral, or the opening slide of a presentation you give to buyers or partner estate agents.

Turning an estate agency cover into a broker's front door

The template was designed around a real estate agency, and its placeholder text says so. The headline reads "Real Estate", the brand is a sample agency called Studio Shodwe, and the date line is set up for an event or presentation. You would replace the headline with something about your service, for example a line about helping buyers secure the right mortgage, rewrite the tagline to name the kind of buyer you help, and swap in your own logo and web address. Decide whether the date line earns its place; it works well for a seminar or open evening and can become your regulatory firm details or a phone number otherwise.

The photograph is the biggest decision. Housing that looks like your patch, whether terraces, new-build estates or village cottages, will do more for local trust than the sample image, and it should be graded to stay soft and warm so it sits comfortably beside the text.

If you want enquiries to come straight through the page, you would add a call button or a short contact form, plus any compliance wording your network requires. Expect an afternoon for the text and image swap, and more if you are extending it into a full site.
